Off Topic - What Are Dog Years?

I'm fairly positive that the entire population of the world has "dog years" wrong. People often refer to a dog's age in terms of "Dog years," like in the sentence:

"My dog is 5 in dog years, which is about 40 in human years."

Wikipedia, every dog site in the world - they all refer to the age of the dog in this manner. But this just wrong. 5 years may be equivalent to 40 human years, but the 5 years that passed are still 5 human years.

So if someone says "My dog is 7 in dog years." My response is "Ah, so hasn't he been alive for 7 human years?" And the answer is "yes."

The dog is 5 in human years. 5 human years is the equivalent, to a dog, as 40 (or 35 or 45 depending on the weight of your dog). So it should be 40 dog years. The time is measured in human years, and so it should be referred to in human years. When 7 human years pass, whatever the equivalent is should be called "Dog years" because that is the rate to which the dog aged. I am not 40 years older when 7 "dog years" pass, because it was 7 human years that passed, not dog years.

Wow that bugs me.

(note: the embedded chart is the only one that I saw that had it right)

A Happyish Ending

This is not political. Do you recall the story of the Judge who sued his dry cleaner's for 54 million dollars for "losing" his pants? He lost the case and he lost his job. He is, probably, the worst person in the world, and he should be banned from working for anyone, ever. He should be counter sued for his racist and frivolous lawsuit.

The couple was forced to sell their cleaners.

He is the man on the left. His name is Roy Pearson, and he is an embarrassment.

The couple on the right is Jin and Soo Chung. They are not an embarrassment. Please consider these two statements if you happen to meet them in your travels.

Is It a Dating Show or is it the Return of "The Weakest Link"?

If this does not make you laugh, please smoke Marijuana more often:

Mary Delgado, a former Tampa Bay Buccaneers cheerleader who was proposed to on the reality-TV show "The Bachelor" in season six, has been accused of punching the man who picked her, Byron Velvick, in the mouth, authorities said. Delgado was taken into custody in Seminole, Fla., about 10 miles northwest of St. Petersburg, early Wednesday. She was under the influence of alcohol when she was arrested on a battery charge, according to a police affidavit. She and Velvick appeared together Tuesday in a special episode of "The Bachelor" called "After the Final Rose."

Don't mess with those Cheerleaders, I'm telling you. Check out those biceps. That dude never stood a chance. Right after this she whispered in his ear "I'm gonna cut you, bitch."

Trinity Vs. Millsaps - October 27th, 2007

This has to be one of the greatest plays in all of football/sports history. 2 seconds left in the game, with Trinity losing and Trinity with the ball for the final play of the game. Lateral, Lateral, Lateral. That's all I'm saying.

Sorry this isn't about politics, but I had to share it.

Off-Topic - Barry Bonds no longer a Giant

From Barry Bonds' journal:

September 21, 2007

Dear Fans,

This journal will be one of my last entries as a San Francisco Giant. Yesterday, I was told by the Giants that they will not be bringing me back for the 2008 season. During the conversation with Peter McGowan I was told that my play this year far exceeded any expectations the Giants had, but that the organization decided this year would be my last season in San Francisco. Although I am disappointed, I've always said baseball is a business -- and I respect their decision. However, I am saddened and upset that I was not given an earlier opportunity to properly say goodbye to you, my fans, and celebrate with the city throughout the season as I truly believe this was not a last minute decision by the Giants, but one that was made some time ago. I don't have nor do I want any ill feelings towards the organization, I just wish I had known sooner so we had more time to say our goodbyes and celebrate the best 15 years of my life.

I consider the City of San Francisco and you, the fans, my family. Thank you for loving me and supporting me throughout all the highs and lows. I feel a deep connection with you as I have grown up with all of you since the days my dad first became a Giant. The Bay Area has loved my family and friends for so many years and I thank you for that. It is now a time for change, as many athletes have experienced. It is comforting to know that those who have come before me -- Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Joe Montana and Jerry Rice, to name a few -- have forever remained in the hearts of the fans, as I know I will too.

Rest of the diary.

He's right. He will always remain in the hearts of fans, because he plans on injecting us with chemicals scraped off of his scalp.

I have no opinion of this, but it's interesting news to a baseball fan like myself, so I'm sharing it.

Kurt Vonnegut Dies at 84

Kurt Vonnegut, author of "Slaughterhouse Five" and many others, died today at 84 years old. He suffered from an irreversible brain injury from a fall he had a few weeks back.

I didn't know his work well, but I do know he will be missed by English Majors and literature buffs everywhere.

Mr. Vonnegut wrote plays, essays and short fiction. But it was his novels that became classics of the American counterculture, making him a literary idol, particularly to students in the 1960s and ’70s. Dog-eared paperback copies of his books could be found in the back pockets of blue jeans and in dorm rooms on campuses throughout the United States.

What if you could always have the edge of the brownie

I'll leave you a moment for your eyes to adjust. Yes... this is the Baker's Edge: Edge brownie pan. It cooks brownies, it's all edges. I'm still trying to figure out a way to make this political, but this is too sweet for words.

Hyundai QarmaQ - The Environmentally Friendly Car

This is a concept car from Hyundai called the QarmaQ. It's much lighter than average cars, and the weight will save 20 gallons of gas a year - which is not a whole lot, but if enough people drive it...

What's different is that it's made with recycled plastic. That whole outer frame is recycled. It's fair to say that when you decide to "Go Green" or Reduce gas usage or what have you, you can still make a pretty sweet looking car.

I wouldn't mind seeing my next president driving one of those. That would be an interesting way to fight global warming. If only they made it a hybrid.

.....

Of course if someone were to buy me the Bugatti Veyron, the most expensive (like 1.4 million), fastest street legal car in the world, I'd forgive them for their gas wasting. The car goes like 400 miles an hour.

My 201st Post

The last post was my 200th. The text came up funky, though, but the area that didn't show up correctly was supposed to read:

Overall Performance Rating- completed by Manager

[] Outstanding - Performance consistently far exceeds job requirements.

[] Successful
- Performance fully meets job requirements.

[X] Needs Improvement - Performance may meet some, but not all, job requirements.

Anyway, this website is falling behind in its quest for becoming more popular than Michelle Malkin's. In order to increase traffic, I'm going to add random non-political photos below. Please feel free and ignore them to your heart's content.

Painting for 40 million dollars?

This is unimportant, but I saw a New York Times article about David Rockefeller selling a Mark Rothko painting with the hopes that it will sell for 40 million dollars. The painting is below:

Dude... this is the ugliest thing I've ever seen. It's name is “White Center (Yellow, Pink and Lavender on Rose).” For just 1 million dollars, I will recreate this painting, add three more colors to its name, and throw in a nude magazine. Anyone? Anyone at all?

Larry the Cable Guy - A Fraud?

Daniel Lawrence Whitney, aka "Larry the Cable Guy" - comedian extraordinaire to blue collar Republicans and human-reminder to change the channel for Democrats, is a fake, a fraud, a phony, and impostor. Dare I say it, a mountebank.

Yes - one of the last remaining comedic outlets of Republicanism in today's liberal media, Blue Collar Comedy tour is the television home of a middle class gentleman posing as a blue collar hick.

Here are some YouTube videos that show the truth behind the fat (note: none of these jokes are funny at all - watch at your own risk).

A native of Nebraska that now lives in Florida? Shame on you, Dan Whitney. Shame on you. At least it's not just the act - you've never been funny.

By the way, who chooses to take on the persona of an incestuous flannel wearing mentally challenged farmer/electric company employee? I withhold judgment.

NCAA Tournament Under Way

College Basketball's most exciting period. Thusfar, I'm 5 for 5. I have two brackets, one where I think Oregon will win (my wishful thinking bracket, even though I'm a UW Husky fan - they're not in the tournament this time, so I have to root for someone) and my Librocrat bracket, which is more realistic.

Even though I'm tied for 1st on Yahoo, I was not upset that I wasn't listed yet as a point leader on their front page, when I saw the following person instead:

Awesome.

Of Diving In too Deep, and Possibly The Complications

Especially at night
I worry over situations
I know I'll be alright
It's just overkill

Day after day it reappears
Night after night my heartbeat shows the fear
Ghosts appear and fade away

I had to give up on the Colin Hay Lyrics for today. You can watch the YouTube video of the Scrubs scene here:

Or check out the album here: Man at Work

In the interim, here are some images I generated:

Technorati Rank - It's the Final Countdown

Ninja!
This blog has been online since November 29th, 2006 and already it is apparently tied for 136,736th in the world, according to technorati. Woo ha. Maybe even better, since some of my favorite blogs are unlisted on technorati. I think my goal in life will be to be more popular than Michelle Malkin. I have 29 blogs that link to me. She has 10,028. So only 10,000 more to go.

Hint Hint.... Give it your all people. Together, we can make this blog more popular than Michelle Malkin's.

Go Team!
